Royal Roads Sewer System and Water System
The sewer system, completed in the spring of 1999, consisted of 340m of 200mm sewer, 220m of 250mm force main, and 200m of 300mm sewer. A larger lift station was also built to handle the ultimate campus flow. The water system, completed in 2001, consisted of 800m of 250mm and 1500m of 200mm main replacing existing infrastructure. Both projects were completed under budget and on schedule.
- Layout and placing of sewer system to blend with the site lines from Hatley Castle.
- Liaison with the Department of National Defense and their environmental consultants.
- Working with site archaeologists to minimize impact and do a cross campus archaeological survey.
- Galloping Goose Trail work coordinated with the City of Colwood, Ministry of Transportation and Highways, CRD Engineering and CRD Parks.
- Inclusion in a training program to educate University staff in the maintenance of the lift station.
- RPZ backflow connections to existing lower fire/irrigation loop.
- Water supply was maintained to all users with no disruption.
- Complete FUS fire demand calculations with review and input from the Colwood Fire Department.
