District of Langford Sanitary Sewer - Specified Area No. 2
1st Team Consulting Ltd. was retained by the contractor to carry out the design and inspection portion of the project. The installed system provides sanitary sewer service to the future total population of the Area including all lands within the catchment area. This equates to a combined commercial, industrial, institutional and residential population of approximately 14,500 and an area of 474.8 hectares. Two lift stations were required for both the Phelps and Strandlund areas.
- Environmentally sensitive installation – lift station positioned next to Millstream Creek.
- Residential area required special consideration of aesthetics, odour and noise control.
- Three phase power was brought into the area to service the pumps.
- The use of dual forcemains to handle design flow variations.
- Phase upgrading of pumps to accommodate future loading.
