Swangard Stadium - Burnaby
Swangard Stadium in Burnaby is host to Grand Prix track and field events, international soccer and rugby tests and other prestigious events. When Johnston Sport Architecture was hired to upgrade the existing facility, they knew that they needed a civil engineering firm with expertise and commitment suited to the task.
- The poor soil conditions required excavation of up to several feet of previously placed field material and rebuilding with suitable material.
- Constructed over a short time line to minimize interruption to facility use and to be ready for the “Harry Jerome Track Meet”.
