Tillicum Mall Redevelopment and Restaurants
The project included design, construction services and record drawings for offsite and onsite services for a new 10 theatre complex (Famous Players Silver City) and related parkade. Design drawings for the reconstruction of a large watermain, internal stormdrain system as well as extension of sanitary sewer to service the new theatre complex were provided. Offsite works included realignment of a District of Saanich trunk stormdrain and reconfiguration of the Tillicum/Maddox/Arena Way intersection. Subsequent to the redevelopment project, 1st Team Consulting Ltd. was requested to provide site servicing to two new restaurants north of the redevelopment site and a relocated entrance from Tillicum Road to the mall.
- 230m of 250mm watermain, 250m of 600 stormdrain, 160m of 300 stormdrain, and 160m of 200mm sanitary sewer.
- Site grading for new parkade and theatre area to blend in with existing bordering parking areas.
- Reconfigured right-in access to mall from Tillicum Road.
- Widening and realignment of Arena Way entrance to Mall and Pearkes Arena.
- Realignment of District of Saanich’s 1,200 trunk stormdrain to bypass new theatre building.
- Widening and realignment of Tillicum Road at Maddox/Tillicum/Arena Way intersection.
- Stormwater runoff treatment via Stormceptor oil and sediment separators along with regrading and revegetation of existing stormwater retention pond.
- Close liaison with the District of Saanich and the project team to complete the project by November for the Theatre’s lucrative holiday season.
