CFB Esquimalt Watermain Upgrade - DND
The Base at CFB Esquimalt is technically a small city with approximately 6.5km of watermain which required upgrading. Working within extremely congested utility corridors with sewer, drain, underground hydro, telephone communications, gas, and steam lines as old as the 1900’s, made the project extremely challenging. Our fresh look at the project, coupled with our thorough, analytical review resulted in an overall savings for the Crown of $2,855,084.00
- The design incorporated special techniques to ensure that water was always available to the base.
- Coordination with a host of internal departments ranging from Commissionaires to Base Commanders with all arms of Defence Construction, which also included maintenance personnel.
- Timing of project was critical as it was required before the end of the budget year so that funds would be available for the project.
